اللّي فينا بكفينا - Elli feena bekafina

Do you ever wonder where these sayings come from, and how come they’re this well-known and used. The origin of these lines that can sum up all of your feelings in three words, with no need to explain yourself any further, اللّي فيي بكفيني.. What I contain, is enough burden on me.
An announcement that you’ve reached your end-point and you can’t take any more punches life is throwing at you. An alarm for people to understand not to exceed their weight on you because you’ve reached your ultimate limit, words that explain that you’ve filled your jar of emotions and it’s over-flowing. It’s more than enough, for the beauty of the Arabic language to understand me.

Daymeh - دايمة

دايمة، دايمة بوجودكم

A beautiful Arabic word, expressed on happy gatherings, either when one finishes eating and is on his way out from a beautiful sitting, when they're feeling gleefully blessed and happy with their surroundings and company, having the urge to say:

“Daymeh” as a way of maintaining and sustaining this gathering forever, hoping it will be repeated with the same amount of love, with everyone being safe and sound. It comes from the word “Dayem” as in sustained and preserved in well-being.

Hara'telli Albi - حرقتلي قلبي


One of the worst feelings you'll ever get is; when your heart hurts or burns you. It’s different than the symptom of a heartburn; which can be easily treated with an antacid, or a heart attack that has its own protocols and first-line management.

“وجعتلي قلبي، أو حرقتلي قلبي”

It’s one of the most intense feelings you'll ever get to experience. An attack you don’t even know how to treat, or even begin to understand, either through the death of a loved one, getting hurt, or whatever degree there is to this burn, you feel it and you can’t behold your heart anymore. Your eyes begin to tear up and you feel suffocated. No wonder elephants die from heartbreak even with their massive weight; our hearts are the essence of being alive and the source of all vital feelings.

Qalbi ‘Alaik - قلبي عليك


There's a beautiful term we use in Arabic which is “qalbi 'alaik ", it literally means, my heart is on you. It's used to show the extent of love and concern you've got about a certain thing, when you can't help but love it so deeply with fear, that you have figuratively dedicated your whole heart to it, it's usually used for people, or for expressing the love we have for our home when our hands can't physically do a thing to help, like " qalbi 'alaik ya baladi ".

                                                                 Abuse - إساءة

My word of the day is; abuse. Reading, thinking, and even mumbling that word gives you a nauseous feeling doesn’t it?

Abuse, abuse, abuse..
The usage of a matter to an extent of damaging and ruining it; due to an illusion of possession and false perception of ego and rights, a sense of entitlement which exceeds all logic.
Such as; abuse of substance, abuse of position,

And abuse of people;

We’re talking again, innocently, resurfacing the love feelings of the past that only Nostalgia can care to explain. We share songs we know will make their day, and posts no one else would understand, there’s a bond that will never be broken, as much as it's bend. We both still don’t know if we’re good to each other, if we’re ever going to be, and if we’re ever going to hurt each other, we tiptoe with our emotions, knock on our common interests but never dare to walk in, it’s too soon maybe, we want to make sure it won’t hurt this time, that it’s just right, and it’s not the breaking point of that connection, we need the signals to stay alert so we can still believe there’s home somewhere, that there’s a place that would understand us without a single word, we need to feel hugged through re-blogging the same comfort lines over the same platforms.  It feels like a home in the middle of war, you see, you never know if you’re going to be safe, you never know if you should go back...
