The hard ride
Lessons in life never come the easy way, and I can’t be more
grateful for that. I passed through the toughest most emotional years of my
life, and that gave my life a motto that I say in every bad situation “maybe
it’s a blessing in disguise” and
عسى ان تكرهوا امرا لعله خيرا لكم" " .. Therefore,
It gave me an insight to see the light in every tunnel or at least feel its
existence.
A friend once wrote “In life, you
pick your own battles”.. and that line has been stuck in my head ever since. Every
single day, you face different people and different situations, it’s up to you
to perceive it as a battle or let it go by smoothly, It’s up to you to surround
your day with battles of gossip, envy, and shallow hateful people, or make your
battle about your future, work, and motivation. The first kind of battles leaves you
empty, stressed out and in-vein, the second kind on the other hand, as much as it
burns out your energy, it always fills you up with more fuel to get you going to the
next destination, and as much as you have to race around, take stops and face
dead ends, eventually, you’ll know that it’s worth the ride.
In this road-trip that you’re taking
in life, many passengers along the way will want to ride with you, some for the
luxury of your ride or maybe to enjoy some good music along the way and dance
around then step off on the next stop, while others may ride with you and you’ll
maybe hit it off over some common interest or click over a similar
heartache, but as soon as your car breaks down or your tire blows, you’ll see
them running out faster than your fuel, looking for another ride with no
troubles; and that will leave you feeling lonely and consumed, you’ll take a
stop at a lousy motel and cry your ass out there for days, and that’s okay.
But
you’ll eventually wake up one morning, and laugh at how silly that seems,
how you took a detour from your dream just because “one” person didn’t
appreciate you or is just purely an ass. And you realize that the problem was never
in you, and you’ll always meet such crabs in your life, it just depends on whether
you’d let them in or not. So you dress up like a boss, get your shit together
and ride that car like you never did before, giving the middle finger to every
fucker dressed as a saint along the way, because you can see the black cloud
around their heads no matter how white they tried to appear.
So, never take shit from no one,
trust your guts, don’t take things for granted, and appreciate all the good in
your life. set your goals, swim against the tides and catch memories
along every station, save a seat for the ones who can draw the line with you
and can complete the dots, they may be few and they may come late, but
they’re definitely worth the wait.
